The OneStep Campaign was created in approximately 1992 by members of DIA. The objective was to create access to small businesses that had one step and other barriers that were blocking entry such as narrow aisles. DIA wants to revive the OneStep Campaign by creating a grassroots access program, managed and run by the disability community whose goal is to encourage and help businesses owners make their establishments accessible to all New Yorkers.
